Description:
My research revolves around disorders of cognition, motivation, and pro-social behavior. In addition, we are interested in how exposure to early-life stress enhances the risk of developing psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia.
To this end, we employ a system as well as a cellular oriented-approach in murine models. Thus, we examine network dynamics and synaptic operation within specific neuronal circuits by a battery of electrophysiological approaches, behavioral tests as well as pharmacological and chemogenetic manipulations. As part of Prof. Boehm group, we have access to confocal/ fluorescence microscopes, and to histology and molecular biology lab.
